Cake, Chocolate and Dessert

What’s the best thing about desserts? When it comes to the sweetest part of the meal there is always a unanimous decision. Either it’s good, which means it tastes rich and sweet enough to balance the taste buds, or it’s bad, just because it’s disgusting to the palate. There’s no gray area when it comes to eating cake. And yes, because cake, dessert, & chocolates are often synonymous to cravings and guilty pleasures. That’s why my kids love to eat chocolates especially during pay day. And also cake on their birthdays and desserts after meals.IMG_1724

Pineapple Fruit

This pineapple fruit was taken at King’s buffet last Sunday during the celebration of Makayla’s dedication. This is one of my favorite fruits and I feel like heaven if I eat pineapple. It taste good, juicy especially if it is very ripe and it can satisfy my mouth, hehe. It’s very delicious fruit and we can get many health benefits in pineapple. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and manganese that are needed in your body to help build our bones and connective tissues. We can also get more nutrients such as calcium, potassium, fibers and of course vitamin C. It is good for a mom like me low in fat, no cholesterol and helps to become sexy, beautiful, stay young and healthy.

Healthy Foods

Staying healthy for vacation should start before you leave. Eat only healthy foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals and protein. Like me I concentrate on eating fruits and vegetables and avoid fats. I need to follow the right and healthy lifestyle to lower my blood pressure and maintain my health. I also exercise during free time, go walking to my friends house daily. That’s all for now and have a great day everyone.

Outdoor Activities

Due to modern technology most of our kids don’t like to engage in any outdoor activities. Most of them stay in front of the computer to play games or watching you tube or listening to their favorite music. Kids today are different unlike before during our time we’re fun of playing at the backyard, play in the fresh air and spending more time outside with friends and neighbors. As a parents we need to encourage our kids to plant flowers in the garden. Since summer is fast approaching, t is nice for the children to enjoy life outside such as shopping, picnic, swimming and many more. You need to help them develop and appreciate the beauty of nature. Help them to appreciate natural scenery and enjoy gardening.

Geranium

One of the best flowers during spring, summer and autumn is geranium and will add color to the garden until frost. This flower needs direct sunlight for at least four hours a day and bloom so wonderful. It will make the flowers bloom so completely and so lovely. This flower can be grown from seeds and cuttings. Geraniums will grow in partial shade, but flowering is reduced even though foliage is produced. You need to select a site where water drainage is good. Geraniums will grow in almost any type of soil if well aerated and porous. This means that heavy clay soils should be improved by adding organic matter each year. An inch of coarse sphagnum peat moss, partially rotted manure, or compost spaded in when preparing the geranium beds is ideal.

Picnic Is Fun

The weather was so nice yesterday. My friends Analyn, Luz, kids and I decided to have a picnic at the Riverside here in our place. It’s a beautiful park with breathtaking views and many kids loves to stay there on the summer. It is one of the best place for friends, kids and family members to have quality time together, bonding and have fun while eating our foods and snacks. The kids enjoyed so much and plan to have a picnic again next week.

Tulips From My Friend’s Garden

The meaning of tulips expresses perfect love. Since we have many different colors of tulips, they also have different meanings and also often carry their own significance. Orange tulips are strongly associated with true love while the yellow tulips are common expression for cheerful thoughts and sunshine. By the way this tulips belong to my friend Mary, she take picture of this and send to me. I like it so much.

Stay Healthy

Most of us believe that cholesterol found in foods like eggs and shrimps. We believe that it is the major factor affecting our blood cholesterol. But according to the article that I read last week, studies have shown that this is not the case. The major contributor to high blood cholesterol is having a diet high in saturated and trans fat. High cholesterol foods have a little, if any direct effect on blood cholesterol levels if eaten in moderate amounts. It should be not more than 300 mg of cholesterol per day. So, be aware that trans fat is as bad as saturated fat. It is said that just five grams of trans fat each day can increase the risk of heart disease by 25 percent. So, be careful just eat healthy foods so that our family will stay healthy and away from any diseases.

Tips For Cutting Calories

There are many ways on how to cut your calories and stay healthy. Please read the following:
1. Eat only when your hungry.
2. Eat slowly ( it takes 20 to 30 minutes to start feeling full ) and stop eating when you’re full.
3. Begin meals with a large glass of water.
4. Have a fruit or vegetable for a snack and have fruit for dessert.
5. Choose skinless poultry and lean cuts of meat.
6. Choose low – fat or fat – free cheeses, salad dressings and bread spreads.
7. Use low – fat cooking methods such as baking, broiling, grilling, steaming and choose cooking sprays for stir – fries and sauteing.
8. Keep a food log to help you track how much you’re eating.
